Is the Maxwell from this book the same character from the beginning of Relic?

Sabrina The Book Lover No, this is a standalone novel and has nothing to do with the Pendergast series (of which Relic is the 1st).

Unanswered Questions (2)

Kind of disappointed that Goodreads didn't tell me that the characters in this carry over to Tyrannosaur Canyon. Would have read them in order had I known.. really depend on Goodreads to tell me these things. Why is there not a Broadbent series marked on here?

Would it be appropriate to read this book aloud to a 9-year-old? He's pretty astute, and we've read the first four Harry Potter books, Treasure Island and Call of the Wild recently.
