I have been trying to read this for my book club. And I know I am supposed to like this book for its depth and profound messaging....but WW2 fiction is NOT my favourite, its the third WW2 novel the group has picked in six months...and it is just so DARK.........I may have to , for the first time...just pack it in. Does this make me a literary lightweight ????
