The protagonist is a police constable dealing with basically anything supernatural, ghosts included. Lockwood & Co. also reminds me of Mary Stanton's Beaufort & Company series (which I read some ten years ago, so I don't remember much). The protagonist is a lawyer who doesn't really mind dead clients (aka ghosts). (less)
