Can I read this as a stand alone, without the rest of the series?

This is a GREAT series. I am reading/listening to "The Wind Rider's Oath" at present, and I know that without having read "Oath of Swords" and "The War God's Own" I would not be enjoying this nearly as much. "War Maid's Choice is the FOURTH book in this series...I would HIGHLY recommend that you read all of them! :-)(less)
