I personally liked the second book the best. The one that tells the story about how LBJ went from being a poor person to one of the richest senators and essentially stole the 1948 senatorial election.

Master of the Senate is #2, but I'm working on 4 right now.(less)

Dan Let me answer that for myself. In a January 28, 2019 article in The New Yorker, the 83-year-old Caro says that he is several years from finishing it.
