Johnny I'm not really familiar with what's normal for what age and such, but for what it's worth:

- Explicit sexual content: There's little to no explicit content (a kiss on the lips is as explicit as it gets). A sexual relationship is implicitly suggested, though it is subtle and between the lines, and is only mentioned in a line or two, if it arguably even happened.
- Cussing: If there's any cussing, I didn't notice it.
- Violence: There's a punch or two as well as scuffles, but nothing prolonged, graphic or extreme.
- Vocabulary: Pretty down to earth and casual vocabulary, easy to read for a young audience without a dictionary on call.
- Horror: I guess that's subjective, but people are getting non-violently replaced by apathetic seed pod aliens, so make of that what you will. It's nothing that wouldn't feel out of place in a Scooby-Doo episode.

I think that'll give you an idea. Basically, if they can read it, it's fine. I'd definitely consider it more tame than Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, or even The Picture of Dorian Gray, as well as having more modern vocabulary.(less)
