How's this for people who read Worm by Wildbow? I definitely see some similarities, but they seem to have come out at the same time, so one can't really be riffing too hard off the other.

Hope/Astra is also a much more optimistic (and naive) person than Taylor, although I suspect that's just as much a function of their environments as anything. (less)

Is there any information on the population of breakthroughs? How many are there? roughly how many on average are created in a given year? Aberrant has a similar idea, people with powers in the real world, supes as celebrities, etch, but there are only two thousand novas in the world, which means each of them is a much bigger deal. Seems like there are far more breakthroughs than that. Any Word of God on that?

Marion Harmon No. Far more than 2,000, but many breakthroughs are relatively trivial.
