My question is on the ending, the last paragraph where Toru calls Midori, the ending really really played tricks with my mind. Did toru die? did he also kill himself?

Doesn't this remind Catcher in the Rye to someone ? I was thinking about that few times.

Alison I know this question is 4 years old, but I was listening to Norwegian Wood while reading The Catcher in the Rye! It also struck me that they're trying…moreI know this question is 4 years old, but I was listening to Norwegian Wood while reading The Catcher in the Rye! It also struck me that they're trying to do similar things, only with a much more striking protagonist in the latter and much less romantisation. (less)
