can someone please explain... Lucy is stated to be a few years younger than Ethan when they are first introduced... but when Shelby was pregnant with Ethan she went to a geneticist Dr (turns out it was Meredith) but the Dr was out supposedly getting an abortion (which she didn't and that was Lucy) So then they should be the same age... right?

After reading three of Jodi Piccoult's books, they always end with the same formula. **SPOILER ALERT** Person accused wants to testify on the stand, lawyer convinces them to go with his/her defense strategy instead, accused forces lawyer to put them on the stand at the very end, accused is ruled "not guilty". Are there any Piccoult books that don't follow this formula?

I am confused about Merediths relationship to Lea. I thought Ruby said the baby was weak and died soon after she took her?
