Has anyone read this article to understand why it is such a departure from his regular stuff - and why it is dedicated to his daughter Naomi? It explains a lot and made me admire him, the man and father even more. 1stt King book for me ever-I've avoided him bc I thought he was only horror. Started listening to this audiobook. Seems like a new chapter every 2 min, & it’s very choppy. It’s not the abridged version, so that’s not it. It's also starting off like a very simple YA novel, certainly not what I expected. Granted, I'm only 3 "chapters" in. Does it get better? It's got 4 *’s here, so most of you think so...

Candee This was YA before YA existed. He wrote it for his then 13 year old daughter.

JD-Reads-Books Yes and no. Breezed through 300 pages but found the final 100 a. It if a slog and it has a slower ending than opening.
