Justice and the unending cycle of revenge against your perceived enemies are the two major themes I'd say.
Also a little bit about the evils of gluttony as well as the racism of wealthy closed white collar societies.
Plus some focus on the discussion of what (and who) is really important in life.

I read the Swedish translation of the book where they seem to be speaking a gibberish language that looks like Polish and other slavic languages. Apparently they speak bad Swedish in the original English version of the book. From what I can gather from the internet, King didn't care enough to write their dialogue in Romani (or didn't have access to a Romani translator) and just made it look "foreign". I guess the Swedish translator didn't care enough to make their dialogue Romani either, but had to make it something else than Swedish, so he just came up with some gibberish.(less)
