Am I the only one that thought this book was awful? I keep seeing all these great reviews and how this is "King's best work", but I just don't get it?? If this is his best, then I'm afraid to read anything else he's written.

If your imagination doesn't work like that, his style of writing probably isn't for you. If you think in words rather than pictures, there may just be too many of them and the story will seem to drag on and meander.

But for the likes of me he's a genius, and reading or listening to his books is way better than watching a movie. I love this book, as do I most of his works, because his style meshes so perfectly with my mind.(less)

Horror expresses topics that make you uncomfortable. If you're not uncomfortable, then it wouldn't be horror, would it? Horror is not happy lovers stroking each other and singing koombayah. It asks the hard questions everyone else is too afraid to confront. Stick to Twilight sweetie where the vampires glitter. (less)

This is the only S. King's book that I've read and it was very disappointing. The only reason I kept reading it was to come across anything frightening. Unfortunately, I ran out of pages. I know S. King is the King of the dark, scary, creepy, horror, thrilling and frightening stories, could anyone suggest me the creepiest and most frightening of his works?

If you like Stephen king, read its short stories, especially the early ones. Fantastic.(less)
