I t…moreThe author intentionally blurs reality, imagination and time. It's hard to pinpoint exactly the time period that Mr. Fox and Daphne are living in. I think the jumping around is just part of the story. If I were to guess, I would say modern times. I'm not even sure if the story about the war is Mr. Fox writing fiction or if the event was reality. (less)
