Top 100 Mysteries & Thrillers on Goodreads
Culprits, spies, bad guys, and women with vendettas: There's something so very satisfying about spending your time with the criminal element. And by that, we mean following the clues and solving the capers when you sit down with a great mystery or thriller. Always in search of a great book, Goodreads recently set out to uncover your 100 most-loved thrillers and mysteries.
There are, of course, rules to this game. Namely, every one of these books has at least a 4.0 rating from the Goodreads community. That means it's a bit of a popularity contest, for example Gone Girl is represented with a 4.02 rating, but another girl—Girl on a Train—just misses the list at 3.88. Then there are the usual suspects you won't find on this list: The Maltese Falcon (3.92), Angels & Demons (3.85), and Strangers on a Train (3.84) among others. It may seem brutal, but the readers have spoken.
Of course, many of your favorite writers have stayed with a character for a while, so in the cases of serialized mysteries and thrillers, we picked the books that, again, are over 4.0 and have the largest number of ratings.

20 - re-reading The Odessa File currently
16/100. 10 were already on my TBR list. I have read a few related books - by the same authors / in a series - of several titles included here.
I've read 42 and seen movies of several others. Feel I haven't given enough attention to some authors - will fix that soon!
I have read 10 of them, I will try to read more. I especially love Sue Grafton and J. D. Robb.
No Patricia Highsmith? No Dorothy B Hughes? No John Bingham? Well, this is a hackneyed list, mostly of potboilers, w exception of LeCarre and Dame Agatha. Naw, your list is 80% junk.

28 Always interesting to see other people's opinions and possibly reconsider my own
17 of the 100 listed. Have read every one of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum mysteries and all of J D Robb's "Death" series. Also a big fan of Sandra Brown and Karin Slaughter.
I've only read 17 of these, but some favorite authors aren't represented: Craig Johnson, Adrian McKinty, Nevada Barr, Ian Rankin, Paul Johnston, or Bartholomew Gill.
34/100 at first glance - many before I tracked my reading on GR. Also missing William Kent Kreuger and Craig Johnson

10/100, which is good as I'm not really a fan of mysteries, or if I do read them, they are generally by more offbeat authors and more period driven or supernatural
