Are You Having a Lit Fit? Call (or Text) Our New Literary Chit Chat Line!
Here at Goodreads we recognize that sometimes you need to talk about the book you’re reading…right this instant. How many times have you been tortured by an unforeseen plot twist or reached the end of a book and screamed "Why?" Or maybe a beloved character perishes or an unusual couple comes together and you’re left shocked and confused. When that happens, who do you turn to? Friends and family are no help. All you hear from them is “Oh, I haven’t read that book yet.” Or “No spoilers!” Or “Who are you? I have no idea what you’re talking about, stop bothering me.”
There’s just got to be a better way. And now there is. Introducing the Literary Chit Chat Line™ by Goodreads. We’ve hired an army of book-loving experts to talk you through all your literary ups and downs. So, if you’re wondering what you should wear to a “red wedding” or simply need to vent about the end of literally any John Green novel, call now.
But wait, there’s more. If you're not in the mood for a phone call, feel free to text us, too. The same team we’ve hired to work the phone lines, also knows how to text. Our experts have been performing finger exercises for weeks in preparation for launch. Our texting lead Leopold Bloom had this to say: “Sure, I text in my everyday life, but I’ve never had to prepare myself for something like this. On top of all of the reading, I’ve really been working hard on my dexterity.”
So, whether you need to chat, vent, or simply praise a book, grab your phones and call or text 1-888-Goodreads. Well-read operators are standing by!

Only a true book lover would believe something written in black and white. "Last night I dreamt I was in" ... talking to goodreads about their new idea #iwannatalkbooks.
woops, i totally fell for it, hahahahaha. I keep forgetting!
Christopher wrote: "I'm so lonely that I'd actually go for this."You have got company with that. I was just reaching for my phone.
Jennifer wrote: "But why can't we? Why can't you? Do you know I threw Wool across the room? I needed to talk that out so I could continue reading the book."You didn't like Wool? I loved that series!
Leopold Bloom working on his dexterity (as if he didn't get enough work at that while watching Gerty MacDowell)....Hahahahahahaha!!! 'good one!
This is something I could actually use at two in the morning, instead of waking up my sleeping husband with my wailing pterodactyl calls of distress. XD
People would actually love this service. Too bad it would be hard to make it profitable. Loved the joke!
I want it to be real, I need to complain to people about how I'm the only person who seems to hate popular books!

Wow! This is an April Fool's joke!? Dang! I would love something like this. I got excited because oddly enough, I recently felt this way at the end of John Green's book Paper Towns. I had no one to talk to! So, instead, I had to vent on my book review blog. Feel free to go read it and please let me know if you, too, were feeling how I was! https://stuckbetweenthepagesblog.word...
How can this possibly be a joke?! I called the number and had a very nice conversation with a nice young man who told me about a rare book he would ship to me if all I did was buy $500 in Target gift cards and send the numbers to him from my 7-11... Should I not have done that?
Elisabeth wrote: "This should be real. Goodreads got me, i actually thought it was true (and i wish it was)"I would totally do this for free!
An April fool's joke I didn't mind! Glad I swear where someone said they clicked the picture, otherwise, I wouldn't have known to do it!

I saw this and thought "Goodreads just keeps getting better and better". And then you crushed all my hopes and dreams with this April Fools. But you used a GIF of Dumbledore, so I can't even be mad! Well done, Goodreads, well done
Every time a finish a John Green novel and I need to vent no one will listen to me!! Finally I have people to fangirl with
I was supposed to ask how this works in the Philippines but after clicking the hotline number, you had me at Dumbledore dancing HAHAHA
