Will it be available for people in the uk?

Seeing that Amazon has quite an investment in the Android operating system (i.e. generates a lot of revenue through with Amazon Fire devices and the Amazon App Store), it's counter-productive to launch this on iOS first.
Languages: English, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish..... what about arabic????

Hi all! We'd love to make these features available to all Goodreads members and Kindle customers around the world (and in a broad set of languages). There's a lot of work for us to make that happen though. We don't have specific timelines to announce yet.
i'd like reviews on goodreads to populate across amazon. easier than having to write two reviews. And please, the world doesn't end at the US borders....
You should open up your API. I want this feature in Marvin app on my iPad, the only app I use to read. Can you open things up a little? Or are you Kindle-centric because you were bought out by Amazon?
I got all excited about this, and realised it's not for the UK. When will it be rolled out in the UK, please.
I know people like to complain, but there are very good Goodreads apps for both iOS and Android. I'm assuming they're available world wide.Honestly, I kinda dread better Goodreads/Kindle integration, because it means that Goodreads will become the tool of Amazon, not the reader.
Now we just need Android (because the Goodreads android app is horrible and I have to use the website instead) and Kindle devices!
It's clear to me that Amazon's priorities are for Goodreads apps are: Kindles first, iOS second, Android third. This is what happens when Amazon owns Goodreads. Any Android-based improvement will be done for the Fire, but not for Android phones/tablets.
I know that a lot of people are complaining, too, but I would like an Android update, too! The current app is ANCIENT. Also, I would really appreciate push notifications and such!
Noel,Technologically, the update is trivial. Kindle Fire runs on Android too.
The reason is the Kindle device is an Amazon device. They don't want to support Android devices to the detriment of the Kindle Fire. So expect the Android app to get short shrift, just like the Kindle app on Android, which lags behind the iOS app.
These changes are great, but there is no instruction on HOW to actually update your progress. I've looked all over the app and did an internet search and there is nothing anywhere...
Alanna wrote: "These changes are great, but there is no instruction on HOW to actually update your progress. I've looked all over the app and did an internet search and there is nothing anywhere..."Tap any page within a book and click the Goodreads "g" that appears on the controls. It's on the bottom controls on iPhone and on the top for iPad.
Eric wrote: "Alanna wrote: "These changes are great, but there is no instruction on HOW to actually update your progress. All I have is Text/background settings, x-ray options and a 'my notebook' icon.
Alanna wrote: "Eric wrote: "Alanna wrote: "These changes are great, but there is no instruction on HOW to actually update your progress. From your Library, click Settings > Social Networks > Goodreads and ensure that Goodreads is linked.
NOTE: You also need to show as a US Kindle customer in order to have Goodreads features on the app.

I also restarted my phone and that did nothing.
Alanna wrote: "Eric wrote: "Alanna wrote: "Eric wrote: "Alanna wrote: "These changes are great, but there is no instruction on HOW to actually update your progress. When you are successfully linked to Goodreads, the Social Networks settings screen will show as "Goodreads ------ unlink." DO NOT click it when it says "unlink" as that will delink the account.
So, go to Settings > Social Networks. If it says "link" next to Goodreads, tap and link it up. If it says "unlink," then you are where you need to be. I noticed that I delinked myself once just mucking about in there.
If none of this works, I think you've gone beyond what I can help with and may have to click "help" down below and get some assistance from our support folks!
Not sure I'm excited about this. Why would I want good reads on my cellphone? I really hope that the App doesn't get cluttered even more. The last update kindle app on Win8 made was so bad I deleted the whole thing after 5 minutes.
Noel,"Monumentally stupid reason."
Welcome to Amazon. Amazon cant ignore Apple because of the market share on phones and tablets. But they seem to have no problem ignoring Android and Windows and Blackberry.
I predicted that Amazon buying goodreads would be bad news. Unlike Zappos, goodreads doesnt sell anything, so Amazon will tinker it to death making it their house tool. See also: Shelfari.
I bought the new kindle HD and I love where it posts to Goodreads for me! I wish my old kindle did too. Maybe they will do an update???

I hate to disagree with you Sean but their priorities are NOT for ALL Kindles first. I have a Kindle Fire HD 8.9' 1st generation. I've had it since it came out but all the apps Amazon has put out is for 2nd generation. I have sent numerous emails asking for thuis to be rectified and was told they had no plans to make the app available for 1st gen. It was suggested i buy a newer version to get what I wanted. So yeah, maybe Amazon's priorities are for Kindle first, just NOT 1st generation Kindle Fires. I feel like I'm being blackmailed into buying a newer generation....Amazon will give me "this", what others have, if I spend a bunch more money for a newer version when what I have is still working great and still has more than 3/4 of space still available even though I have over 1000 books on it. So NOT feeling like a priority here.
Patsy - I absolutely agree with you. I have the 1st gen Kindle Fire HD and if I want the goodreads integration I have to spend another $400 or so to get that. While I have an Android phone with a goodreads app that is so crappy I end up using the web to do any updates via my phone. I've posted about this before and told they aren't ignoring these requests but frankly they are since it's been over a year since I posted about that. The goodreads app for android is crappy, yet they can update it to show the Best books of 2014. They can't even get it so you can see all of your shelves when trying to add a book. Sucks!

Except they ignored the Kindles.
