Goodreads Grows to 20 Million Readers
Big news today at Goodreads! We now have 20 million members, up from 10 million members just eleven months ago.
Seeing more and more readers on Goodreads is inspiring, but what's more important is what's happening as a result. One of the main reasons why Elizabeth and I founded Goodreads is because we believe in the power of books. We believe the ideas you find inside stories can truly change the world. We believe that books make the world a better place. It's why the Goodreads mission is to help readers everywhere find and share books they love. So, you can imagine how much it means to our team to get emails like this:
This is really just a fan letter to tell you how much I adore Goodreads and how much I appreciate its mission. I've been using it since 2007 and it's been integral in introducing me to books and authors that have changed my life (to be maybe a touch melodramatic). Anyway, that's all. Just wanted to thank you for creating it!
All best, Corinne
And seeing tweets like this:
Your love of reading shines through everywhere on Goodreads, from group discussions to ratings and reviews to reading updates. You've written more than 25 million reviews and added more than 620 million books.
On behalf of the entire team here, I'd like to offer you all a heartfelt thank you for being a part of the Goodreads story. In honor of the many creative gifs shared in reviews by our members, we've created one to celebrate the 20 million milestone:
And here we are if you prefer a single shot:

Keep on reading!
Otis
P.S. Some of our long-term members will notice that our team is looking a lot bigger than in the 2012 photo. We're growing fast and hiring. If you're interested in joining the team, check out our openings here.

CONGRATS ON ONGOING SUCCESS!!

It's a pleasure to be a member of this unique little community .. <3

...but is it possible that my troubles in logging in to your wonderful site are because of the site's inability to handle such heavy traffic? (From time to time I get a message from you saying that you're over capacity, but lately I'm just getting messages saying either that the page doesn't exist (?!) or that Internet Explorer can't find it.

Keep up the good work!
