Mariam Michelle wrote: "anyone recommend a good series for a 11 year old girl to read this summer? looking for something for my daughter to get into reading like me!" Charlie Bone. It’s like a Harry Potter like fantasy and I loved the first couple of books. Pretty little liars if she’s anything like I was when I was 11( Charlie Bone is not like PLL).

Destiny Wiley Michelle wrote: "anyone recommend a good series for a 11 year old girl to read this summer? looking for something for my daughter to get into reading like me!"

Percy Jackson is really good. If your daughter likes more of a "girly" vibe I would recommend the "Dork Diaries", my little sister is 11 and she really liked the books. It really does just depends on what she is into, but I would go along the lines of Dork Diaries if she likes pictures in her books. If she likes adventures and doesn't care for pictures, then the "Mother Daughter Book Club" series is also a good one. Hope this helps!

Astrid Michelle Candela The Clementine series by Sara Pennypacker is entertaining and funny, with memorable characters. (I read them all with my kids; we thoroughly enjoyed them.)

message 137: by Sophia (new)

Sophia Michelle Candela wrote: “anyone recommend a good series for a 11 year old girl to read this summer? looking for something for my daughter to get into reading like me!”

I would recommend the Isle of the Lost series by Melisa de la Cruz. It is a book series based on Disney’s Descendants. Those books are what got me into reading and (in my opinion) they are perfect for an 11 year old. If that isn’t really her style I would recommend the first couple of books in the Harry Potter series. You can also look on Goodreads for middle grade books. They usually have really good books for younger readers.

Hillary L Michelle Candela - if your daughter is like mine and enjoys a little romance, she might enjoy the Love & Gelato series by Jenna Evans Welch. My daughter LOVED it. It was amazing seeing her CHOOSE to read because she was into a book.
