60 Upcoming Books the Goodreads Editors Can't Wait to Read

The common problem of "too many books, too little time" can reach truly dire proportions when you work on the Goodreads editorial team. After all, we get a sneak peek at tons of soon-to-be-published books and, contrary to popular belief, we do not get to read on the clock!
So we thought it would be fun for each of us to do a personal preview and share which upcoming titles publishing between September and December we're most excited to add to our teetering real-life Want to Read shelves before the end of the year. As always, we immediately ran into some overlap, so there's a whole category for "Books We Fought Over" as well. Team harmony restored, and more books for you! Win/win!
Scroll over the book covers to learn more about each title, and add the ones that pique your interest to your Want to Read shelf.
Books We Fought Over
Our tastes on the editorial team are varied and wide-ranging, but these are the books that we all want to read. New Cormac McCarthy! New N.K. Jemisin! Butts!
Associate Editor Sharon Hsu's Picks
What's got me excited this fall? Historical fiction, Kingsolver-does-Dickens, and Melissa Clark's newest cookbook, which I've been impatiently waiting on since all the printed copies were lost at sea this spring.
Senior Editor Cybil Wallace's Picks
I'm taking my love of grazing across genres to a new level this season! From nonfiction to debut literary fiction, I am excited to fall into these pages...
Managing Editor Danny Feekes' Picks
A new novel following the trials and tribulations of Arthur Less? Incredible nonfiction? Our cups runneth over this fall. Beyond these, I’m looking forward to spending time with a few new-to-me debut authors. Happy reading!

I used to find them through lists like this, and now through NetGalley, where you can sign up to get advanced reader copies to review :)

It really is! And the story is not what I expected, bizarre and brutal at points, but pretty good if you don't mind the topics.

There's this page on Goodreads where you can search for upcoming months' most anticipated books:

This is honestly the site's most precious and useful feature for me personally. At the end of each month, I make sure to check what the upcoming three months have in store, in terms of books - and I find nearly all my reads through that feature. Don't ever take it away, please.

I thought the same thing!
