Catch Up Now with 48 New Additions to Serialized Mysteries

Posted by Cybil on August 11, 2022

Longtime readers of thriller and mystery novels often get hooked on a particular series. It’s a good system for everyone involved. The authors know what their readers like, and the readers know what they’re going to get. Plots and twists may change, but style and sensibility remain, and that’s really what we’re there for.

We’ve collected below all the new installments to existing series published in 2022 in the mystery & thriller category. For instance, Blue Diamond (published in June) is the latest in Leonard Goldberg’s ongoing The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes Mystery series. If you’re a numbers person, you can sort by installment. Pick up the second book in a series. Or the eighth. Or the 54th.

Scroll over the book cover images below for links and intros, and add what you like to your Want to Read list. Check those release dates—some of the books listed here are on shelves now, and some are coming later this year.

Marie W. Goodreads, I cannot wait for your fall articles!!!!!!!

message 2: by Jim (new)

Jim I have already read several of these books and there are several more that I am looking forward to reading.

Warren Good list.
Looking forward to several of these books.
Also could be added is The Shadow Murders by Jussi Adler-Olsen (I think this will be the last in the series).

CR Williams I changed careers recently from Angry AP Literature Teacher to Baby Librarian--one of my new favorite things to do is find Punny Mysteries (really want to make a display), and Hot and Sour Suspects, and the other titles in the series, are absolutely going on my TBR List. (I don't read Cozies, but I'm making an exception!)

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* I love this list, and also how Goodreads does not like comments reminding them how they first published this article with “editions” instead of “additions” in the title. Teach the controversy!

message 6: by Mina (new)

Mina Wagner These seem to be thriller-mysteries mostly, not mysteries. For instance, Donna Andrews is not here.

message 7: by Karen (new)

Karen I don't think Overkill is part of a series.

message 8: by Toni (new)

Toni Box, Connelly, Sandford, and Penny are authors I will 'want to read' without even reading the synopsis. I usually don't read books that take place outside of the USA, but the Galbraith books are an exception. They are excellent and I am looking forward to the new one coming at the end of August.

You'd need a big display case, they are everywhere

Linda Chance Looking forward to these series additions as well: Bleeding Heart Yard by Elly Griffiths; Sinister Graves by Marcie Rendon; Wedding Plot by Paula Munier; and Whale Fall by Ann Lambert!
