do you have any other recommendations for mysteries set in India? my library and bookstore don't have that one :(
This is a nice melange of articles. I might have found a few new books to put on my TBR List.I'm trying to get my hand on the Book of Cold Cases or something by Riley Sager on Mystery/Thriller week.
A list of lists, huh? 😂As a medical crime thriller (with mystery), I would definitely recommend Tiger Mosquitoes: A Medical Crime Thriller by Kenneth J. Stein! It kept me on the edge of my seat and I still love re-reading it!
LSD Underground: Operation Julie, the Microdot Gang and the Brotherhood-of Eternal Loveebook by David BlackA psychedelic 1970s true crime story with all the ingredients

so good! 100% recommend. definitely more mystery than thriller but still amazing! (i hated the sequel though)
Faith ☾⟡Proud Prude⟡☽ wrote: "Any YA/YA appropriate recs?"I'm a high school librarian. For mystery, the books/authors that are very popular in the mystery genre right now are:
One of Us Is Lying (or any other book by) Karen McManus
Inheritance Games series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series by Holly Jackson
All Your Twisted Secrets by Diana Urban
Since my two favorite genres are Historical Fiction and Mysteries and I like to read books in series, I will be reading
by C.S. Harris, which is the first in the Sebastian St. Cyr Series, about an aristocrat detective in Regency England.

I've read a lot of these, but a few I;ve never heard of. Excited to explore those!!! My TBR is getting longer and longer. Love Mystery Thriller Week!!!!
Conny wrote: "I still need to finish The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins."I'm not really into mysteries and thrillers -- just not my genre. However I loved The Moonstone. Also, The Woman in White is excellent!
Mystery & Thriller Week is a favourite (tied with Science Fiction) so I will enjoy most of these articles. Thanks, Goodreads! This week I'm reading a book (Murder in Vienna) that's classic crime fiction by E.C.R Lorac. I came across her in the British Library Classic Crime novels. (though my current read isn't part of that collection). And lots of mysteries are to be found there.

You could try Sujata Massey's Perveen Mistry series. It is set in the 1920s so it's historical too, if you also like that kind of atmosphere.

Or this one :) Sacred Games by Vikram Chandra
I am currently listening to an audio book. The Stolen Sisters. By Louise Jensen. Very good book full of twists and turns.

Yes! Anything by Karen M. McManus is a great YA thriller read :)
I'm so excited for Mystery and Thriller Week! Thanks for the great articles and all of the reader's suggestions in the comments. You'll keep me reading these well into next year!I'm currently reading Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn, a thriller and Eggsecutive Orders by Julie Hyzy, a cozy mystery.
Currently reading The Fields by Erin Young, more of a police procedural set in Iowa's agricultural badlands.Blind Date by Brenda Chapman is a promising new Canadian series.
Can't wait to read Simone St James latest novel, The Book of Cold Cases
I'm going to finish Journey to Munich. I really loved Osman's first in the series and looking forward to reading The Man Who Died Twice. And now I need to add something by Simone St. James because there have been so many positive comments in these threads!
To anyone into Australian Outback Mystery Fiction, give Jane Harper a try!!! I love love love her work (all four of her novels are incredible but 'The Dry' is definitely the most famous)! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
Sage wrote: "Any recommendations for things similar to Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Divergent, etc?"Station Eleven if you can stomach a dystopian worls where 99.9% of the world has died from a SARs virus -written in 2014
A bit more meaty is Recursion by Black Crouch (Loved his Dark Matter too) Science fiction based modern day thriller based, on time and memory. A NY cop and a scientist both searching for the truth
Sage wrote: "Any recommendations for things similar to Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Divergent, etc?"Try Neal Shusterman, his Scythe trilogy is very good. I also enjoyed his Unwind series.
Also Alice Broadway's Ink trilogy.
