As a medical crime thriller (with mystery), I would definitely recommend Tiger Mosquitoes: A Medical Crime Thriller by Kenneth J. Stein! It kept me on the edge of my seat and I still love re-reading it!

How about One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus? It’s on my to be read list, so I don’t know much about it, yet is listed on here as a YA mystery and thriller. Hope this helps, unless you have already read it!

Shannon Faith ☾⟡Proud Prude⟡☽ wrote: "Any YA/YA appropriate recs?"
I'm a high school librarian. For mystery, the books/authors that are very popular in the mystery genre right now are:
One of Us Is Lying (or any other book by) Karen McManus
Inheritance Games series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series by Holly Jackson
All Your Twisted Secrets by Diana Urban

message 13: by Howard (new)

Howard Hill Since my two favorite genres are Historical Fiction and Mysteries and I like to read books in series, I will be reading What Angels Fear (Sebastian St. Cyr, #1) by C.S. Harris by C.S. Harris, which is the first in the Sebastian St. Cyr Series, about an aristocrat detective in Regency England.

Anissa Mystery & Thriller Week is a favourite (tied with Science Fiction) so I will enjoy most of these articles. Thanks, Goodreads!

This week I'm reading a book (Murder in Vienna) that's classic crime fiction by E.C.R Lorac. I came across her in the British Library Classic Crime novels. (though my current read isn't part of that collection). And lots of mysteries are to be found there.

You could try Sujata Massey's Perveen Mistry series. It is set in the 1920s so it's historical too, if you also like that kind of atmosphere.
