Katya wrote: "Fantasy lovers read Winternight Trilogy immediately. This is not a request, it's an order."I finished the first book in the series yesterday, and I'm just about 40% through the second book now. This series is incredible!
Joan Clark's 'Latitudes of Melt" & anything written by Louise Penny but my absolute favorite from the Armand Gamache mystery series is "The Beautiful Mystery", so satisfying.
Sofie Aurora wrote: "One Day in DecemberA really good book to read in december for a little bit og christmas spirit, heartbreak and love! I absolutely loved this book!"
Thankss!! I'm going to read this one
Madison wrote: "I want some Christmasy books to read, hope they do one of those soon."Can you recommend me Christmas or New Year's Eve romantic books?
I'm feeling the season so I'd like to read about those topics.
I loved the Snow Child!Last winter I listened to a bunch of books about or that take place in Alaska. My favorite was "The Final Frontiersman: Heimo Korth and His Family Alone in Alaska's Arctic Wilderness" by James Campbell. I'm just a little obsessed with The Last Frontier.
I'm going to be super busy in the next week, but I'll be reading The Bear and the Nightingale for this winter season. I had the sequel gifted to me as well, so I'm excited!
The Polar Express is a great family book and find one with terrific illustrations. Books can be savored longer than movies. Also, I'd recommend Jacob T. Marley by R. William Bennett, a refreshing wonderful take on Dickens' Christmas Carol, which also makes good reading. Bennett's latest (2019) is The Last Man at the Inn: One Man's Quest to Believe.
Happy reading.
Ben wrote: "I recommend Hogfather by Terry Pratchett"I just finished re-reading it and YES! A thousand times yes. Beneath the funny, quirky exterior lies a dark-ish analysis of human nature and our relationship with wilderness, the cold, and beliefs.
Katya wrote: "Fantasy lovers read Winternight Trilogy immediately. This is not a request, it's an order."I have it on order and can't wait!
When ever I think of winter reads the only book that comes to my mind is 'Rebecca'. That's so so good.
Oh dear please don’t recommend a book by David Benioff the man who (along with his collaborator D.B. Weiss) ruined Game of Thrones
Except it’s Summer in the Southern Hemisphere and we’re looking for Summertime Books. Perhaps Festive Season Books or Holiday Books would be better.
David wrote: "Best winter book is To Build a Fire. Literally just a dude freezing to death. Nothing like it to make you appreciate your nice, warm, 21st century home. Sounds like The Revenant...
I like to read books by dickens in the winter. Since I'm stuck inside I have the time to really enjoy the many characters and follow his involved plot lines. It's a great time to read a large and complicated book!
I’ve read a lot of very long books since January so probably won’t meet my goal this year. (It’s October 2020 and I’m about 2/3 of the way.). I always set my goal to equal my age — and I’m 63 so that’s a challenge! But then, challenges are meant to be somewhat difficult yet realistic and I’m loving the books I’ve read.
