Steph wrote: "IT by Stephen KingI really need to read more long books..."
I'm a slow reader, so it takes me a looong time to get through 500+ pages. But a long Stephen King book feels like 300 to 400 pages.
If you like SK, I highly recommend Needful Things.
Donikatniss wrote: "IT by Stephen King! Can't wait til 'Chapter 2' comes out in theaters!"Looking forward to part 2 as well!
Here are some books that are (about) 500+ pages, that I really enjoyed:Needful Things by Stephen King (as well as numerous other SK books)

George wrote: "Two beautiful books:Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner
The Far Pavilions by M.M. Kaye"
I loved Angle of Repose. Unlike any other. It could have been written about my great-grandparents, who tried to homestead in Montana in the early 20th century.
Jim wrote: "No James Michener? No David McCullough?"I'll add a David McCollough: The Great Bridge was really absorbing, and a subject most people don't know anything about , which is fun.
Swan Song by Robert McCammon, much better than The Stand. He is a great author most people aren’t familiar with.
Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtrySophie's Choice by William Styron
The Nix by Nathan Hill
A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry
A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
The Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
Loved The Stand and The Count of Monte Cristo.Kristin Lavransdatter

Gone With The Wind is such a treat! Once you start reading it, you can't stop. My first page-turner, and still in my top 10 (25 years later).
I loved Dorothy Dunnett's two historical fiction series, The Lymond Chronicles and The House of Niccolo. All books in these series go well beyond the minimum to classify as "long."

Villette by Charlotte Bronte
Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
Doomsday Book by Connie Willis
Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell
The Greenlanders by Jane..."
Ain't that the truth.
