What's popular right now? An essay collection about true-crime obsession, powerful memoirs, and the books that inspired television's big hits, including Good Omens, A Game of Thrones, and The Handmaid's Tale.

Here at Goodreads we like to know what people are reading. From peeking at the books of our fellow commuters to not-so-surreptitiously checking out the stacks on our coworkers' desks, we embrace our curious nature. Kristine 85% through White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo. I think it's the most important book I've read in years. Now I can really be part of the solution (and not the problem).

message 55: by Carly86 (new)

Carly86 Just finished The Songs Of Us by Emma Cooper, absolutely brilliant book, the type of book where you miss the characters as soon as it ends

meg ainsworth Robert Gott, The Serpent's Sting. Witty, clever 'whodunnit'. Love this man's writing.

message 73: by Anita (new)

Anita Taylor Just love long books! Just finished The Book Thief 4.5 stars and CJ Sansom's Tombland, the latter with considerable historical detail which will not appeal to all. Look forward to reading titles as recommended by others.

message 74: by Sandy (new)

Sandy I've read 10 and just added a couple more from here to my TBR list. I'm currently reading The Broken Girls by Simone St. James - so far, so good. It's from the Lariat List for this year, and I've yet to read a book off their lists that I haven't enjoyed. The Texas Library Association’s annual Lariat Reading List calls attention to outstanding fiction published during the year that merit special attention from adult readers. Since 2009 the goal of the Lariat Reading List has been to highlight outstanding fiction that is simply “a pleasure to read.”
