Definitely and also by Ray Bradbury "Something Wicked This Way Comes" and the movie is pretty good too!

The Vanishing by Tim Krabbe is quite scary.

Thanks for the tips! Just requested the Ward book from the library.

Only one book ever did that for me -- Amityville Horror! I read it at night and when I got ready for bed, I could not look in the mirror! Truly, was too freaked to look at myself in the mirror - didn't dare! :-)
Another suggestion: "The Haunting of Hill House" by Shirley Jackson.

I’ll give it a listen. Do I need an Audible account though?

It might be on Youtube!! I'm actually considering paying for audible books around Christmas time.

A great horror book recommendation from me has to be Stephen King's The Stand. In its full uncut edition its very very long, but it gave me nightmares reading it and several times I had to put it down. Amazing though.

"I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me" Daddy check for monsters underneath his bed." I look underneath for his amusement, and see him, under the bed, starring back at me quivering and saying "Daddy, there is someone on my bed."
How is that for scary!!??

Ha, that's very clever, love that. What was it from?

There's usually a link to the book on its page, and mostly have to be bought from usual ebook sites or book sellers.

Christine by Stephen King"
Hated the ending. Had me all the way until then. And don't bother w/ the movie- waste of time.

Is that a book or a state of mind?"

Speaking of HP Lovecraft, JP Mac wrote something of a sequel to The Dunwich Horror called Hallow Mass and it's a really wild approach to Lovecraft's story. I've read it a few time already, but my problem is, I fall asleep too easily when I'm reading in bed, so it takes forever to get a story finished. With Halloween being just around the corner, I'm gonna give it another go.
The story's great. I just need to sleep in so I can read all night long. I need a week-long Long Weekend!
