You should never ever tell anyone you're a writer.

It’s a pretentious move. You should tell them your real job.

If you don’t have a real job and still think you’re a writer, thank your parents because you are still a baby. A pretentious one, even.

People work. Writers work. Writing is secondary and feeds off it.

Get off your ass and get over yourself.
