How to be positive

I'm sure you've heard how important it is to be positive.  And how "bad" it is to be negative. And thinking negative thoughts draws negative to you.  The prevailing new age wisdom is that each time you have a negative thought, immediately replace it with a positive thought.  The problem with this is negative thoughts are symptoms. And symptoms are a message from the body-mind.  When we immediately dismiss a negative thought, we shoot the messenger.

The other thing is, negative thoughts are energetically weak.  Even one positive thought negates the effects of a bushel-full of negative ones, especially if its accompanied for positive feeling and emotion. So give yourself a break and don't worry too much about the effects of your negative thoughts, which can just make you more negative! A single negative thought has about as much power as a dust bunny under your bed.

To be positive, we need a shift in perspective....the higher-self perspective. When you are feeling negative and thinking small, it's because you are living from a small part of you.  That small part categorizes everything as either bad or wrong, or good or right.  But the thing is, nothing is bad! Your symptoms aren't bad.  They are messages from a part of you that needs some healing, or is in the process of healing. Either way, its all good.

I know so many individuals who are experiencing all kind of physical-emotional symptoms -- anxiety, racing heart, shaking, vibrations and tingling, strange transient aches and pains, feeling weepy and vulnerable. And they think it is bad. This is very understandable given the cultural belief that symptoms = pathology. But our body-minds are responding to the ever increasing frequencies on the planet. Our body-minds are making the necessary adjustments to sync with our spirit.  Its all good.

To be positive, have compassion for yourself.  Send love to the part of you that is afraid. Send love to the part of you that is thinking negative thoughts. Send love to the part of you that thinks it's bad. Every part of you is deserving of love. The simple act of feeling compassion automatically shifts you to your higher self.  And that's how you become positive. More about this here.

When I asked the Siri feature on my phone for directions the other day, I automatically said "thank you," forgetting that Siri is not a real person.  Her answer? "It's all good, Heidi."  Ain't that the truth!!
