O________OThat's ok. I wrote a story for school once that apparently got a phone call to my parents. I wrote about a war horse that had been shot full of bullets and then the bullet holes were replaced with gems and that's how merry-go-round ponies are made! :D
To be fair, your writing was excellent for a first grader. I'm impressed.
Haha, that sounds awesome.I copied and pasted that from my blog. I think I edited the punctuation for readability, because I went comma-crazy.
I lost it at "my brother ran out fo the van, probably looking for worms my brother's name is kale it sounds like kill." This is the cutest thing ever. I totally got the Stine vibe. I'm sure if I went looking through my old writing I would just laugh at my cuteness. I remember writing a Greek mythology based off of how zebras got their stripes once. That is a story I need to find.

LOL! Well, that's no fair! I left in all my run on sentences. :D

Save the notebooks/scrapbooks from when you were younger. They will be precious, the more time passes :D

Vera wrote: "Save the notebooks/scrapbooks from when you were younger. They will be precious, the more time passes :D"Haha yeah. :D I think I have the original draft of Cloak and Dagger on one of my old laptops... originally, it was called "Psychotic Love" and it was really lame. XD
Vera wrote: "PS: I still read RL Stine books in 2016. And there's Goosebumps movie coming out this year!"SAME! Although I'm more into Christopher Pike and V.C. Andrews at the moment. Christopher Pike has an awesome vampire series that I really like. Think it's called the Last Vampire?! OMG SO GOOD.
AND AHHHHH YESSSS. GOOSEBUMPSSS MOVIE.
...I think it's already out here. They were giving out promotional posters of the old book covers, and I managed to snag four. YAHSSS.
I swear a previous incarnation of the novel, was "Jaded...?" You put 4 chapters up, pulled it down, and then started "C & D..." I remember making some comment, about if this was a reincarnation you were gonna finish...and lo and behold' within six months, the majority was up :)You should hook up with Suzana. Those are, like, her two favourite authors, alongside Lois Duncan. I'm not "into" RL Stine books (haha, you make it sound like a phase) - I just have lots of them lingering around the house, and they make quick rereads. I think american movies always air here 2 or 3 weeks after the U.S. So 'Goosebumps' was out last Friday, or this upcoming Friday - can't remember which. (omg just checked - we get it FOUR months after you)
Yes, it went Psychotic Love, then Jaded, then Cloak and Dagger. :DThere was also a very rough draft version of Horrorscape called "Counterplay" that I wrote in response to a challenge haha.
OOOOH, I'll have to then! I didn't know she liked V.C. Andrews that much! That's ridiculous about the time delays. I've noticed it's like that with ebooks too so I imagine it might have something with securing the rights in other countries. I feel lucky I don't have to deal with that; I hold the rights to my books, so I can just click the publish button and then everyone gets their copy at the same time. :)
Delays are a piss-take. I'm glad you don't have some major corporation bossing you around, though I suppose that same corporation, will promote the sh** out of your book. Being an Indie author is hard, I'm guessing! But there's some success stories out there like E.L James and Colleen Hoover. What gets my goat though, is that indie publishing has opened up a whole can of worms - allowing any old shi* to be published. Still, I'm glad it exists. And that it cuts out the irritating middle man!

I love that you left it unedited, because the misspelled words make it so endearing. It is so childishly innocent and adorable. I'm impressed, though, by your use of decomposing. That's a pretty big word for a nine year old. You also utilize some good descriptions. Soggy cornflakes are an apt comparison to sodden leaves sinking into water-saturated ground. I also got a kick out of nerd breath. And you also set up a hook to get the reader to read more and find out the secret.Yes, I've just reviewed your childhood story. Thanks for sharing this fun bit of nostalgia with us.

I'm not sure how well my nine year old self might have reacted to such criticism (probably pouted), but it made me lol! :D ♥
