Taxing Caturday

Yes, it is 2016 and my human is still preparing her income tax paperwork by hand! She did meet with a Quickbooks consultant this time last year… but then she got really sick with shingles and forgot everything she was taught. We’ve been busy so she hasn’t had a chance to meet with the consultant again, so there I was this week, sitting in the middle of a bunch of paperwork from 2015.

It took her the better part of a couple of days to go through all of the receipts and such from 2015 — because in spite of her good intentions, she never does it monthly — and record everything.

Oh, and we had help, although I’m not sure how helpful she was.

Now that everything is recorded, she needs to sit down with her calculator and Excel spreadsheets and get the documents to her tax preparer. That is what we are busy doing this weekend! Which is a bummer because I really wanted to go to the pet store.
