Even though ten-year-old Sammy Grey came out of the closet when his mama opened the door, he knew he was not free.
“The next time you spill food on my clean floor, I’ll keep you in the broom closet for two days instead of one,” his mother, Nagoya said.
Sammy gave her a sideways glare, unable to see her entire tall frame because of his swollen left eye. The throbbing sent waves of pain throughout his head.
“Do you understand me, boy?”
