Another sketch I drew in the notebook when I was writing this novel longhand. Here’s Laurence (still without quite such a big chin) being forced to play volleyball at Canterbury Academy, with a banner that says “SCHOOL SPIRIT” behind him.

Great drawing & love how you capture his mood in the situation & also with just a few minimal lines how you make it more than clear about all the volleyball stuff in the background: the net, the clock & the words "School Spirit" now transformed because they are cut off which makes the composition more powerful & interesting & the word fragments we are left with sound irritating too, which is cool.
