G.M. Elizabeth Hunter has become my favorite author. I wish I had started reading her sooner. Now that I HAVE found her, I have read all of her books, then wait impatiently (and with heavy panting) her next work of art. In her Elemental Mystery series, Beatrice & Gio are the most romantic couple since Romeo & Juliet. I am NOT lying. When that series was over, I didn't think I would love any of the others as much. But I was so wrong. Her characters are rich and nuanced, the story line is always interesting and you fall in love all over again. In Imitation & Alchemy you get to fall more in love with Ben & Tenzin. These characters are a continuation of the Beatrice & Gio story, so they have become old friends to the reader. Ben has become a young man who is at a crossroads in his life. Human or immortal? Not an easy decision, and a little heartbreaking to me. Tenzin, of course, is at his side for a great adventure, or trouble. More like both! For perhaps the fiercest immortal of all time, Tenzin has a heart for her Ben. Where this relationship goes, I still do not know, as Elizabeth is great at keeping you guessing. This is a prequel to what will be Ben & Tenzin's continuing adventures. If you have not read Ms Hunter, please start with the Elemental Mystery series. You will be hooked. I. LOVE. THIS. AUTHOR.
