Stephen is still alive

We have been made aware that there is a hoax circulating claiming that Stephen was found dead today at his home in Bangor. Please be assured that this is just a hoax and Stephen is very much alive and well.

Stephanie Glad to hear that it's just a hoax!

message 2: by Jason (new)

Jason Powell here is a link to the only article I could actually find on it. I don't understand how people think this is funny... whatever, don't believe everything you read on the internet

Kevin Duncan 'Eff the inconsequential morons that start rubbish like this! Their whole world is *this* big!

message 4: by Jess (new)

Jess Glad it was a hoax!!!!

message 5: by Barbara (new)

Barbara For some reason I was pretty sure it was a hoax - Abe Vigoda, who actually died this week, had been the victim of several such hoaxes - but I couldn't be happier to get the official word that one of my favorite writers is definitely alive and certainly kicking!

message 6: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Winch Thank goodness!

message 7: by T (new)

T Wright I love Stephen King, not just for his writing, but also his political views. The world would be less without him. Have been loving "Haven" got to watch it lately on Netflix. Read his books for years. I am glad that this is a hoax. The world has lost some incredible people in the last little while and I am glad he is not one of them.

message 8: by Cindy (new)

Cindy Bishop Am so glad this was fake. I dont see what thrill it is to do something like this. But hey Mr. KING could turn this in to a good book.

message 9: by Jean (new)

Jean The Thing of Evil isn't THAT evil. ;)

message 10: by Vicky (new)

Vicky Cahill Of course I didn't ever believe that because there would have been so much more of an outpouring of hysteria, more news about it and the details everywhere you looked, and I never believe everything I read on the internet as a rule. Long live the" KING!"
My very first author of adult novels, which I started reading at 9 years old,and I am now in the vicinity of my late 30's.

message 11: by Karlo (new)

Karlo Don't you dare. Mr.King is immortal.

message 12: by Shane (new)

Shane Walker I had not heard the news of his supposed passing until this post, but it is good to know he is still with us and hopefully will be for some time to come. That is, unless there is a pet cemetery near his home that no one has told us about, in which case this whole dead but not really dead story might actually have me a bit nervous.

message 13: by Mollie (new)

Mollie I suspect Mr. King might be laughing louder and longer than anyone, about this.

message 14: by Kurt (new)

Kurt Mueller You shouldn't believe anything you read online, including this comment.

message 15: by McK (new)

McK Thank goodness! My heart skipped a beat.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Dear Mr. King,

Oh! How sad for that jealous person(s) that started that rumor! Just think of this, God LOVES your novels! Why, He has an entire library with every single book, essay, opinion you've ever written - including that first story written and read by your "mom". Yep! He was there reading over your mom's shoulder. Why, He's even started a whole new shelf in anticipation for your next 100 years (give or take a few years) of scary writing! Yes....you...do...scare...Him...

Lighter note, love your writing! I remain,
Sincerely,
Norma Iris

message 17: by Gerardo (new)

Gerardo Michlig what?! thank God I haven't read any of that, are people stupid or what? what's the point in making up that kind of things?

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

:( awww I'm glad, I'd be really sad if he really did die!
I hope he lives a long and healthy life

message 19: by Liza (new)

Liza Long live the King!

message 20: by Renato (new)

Renato Rodriguez I'm glad i didn't even get to see the fake report. It would've crushed me.

message 21: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Me too, with everyone we've lost this year that would have put me over the edge I think.

message 22: by Jon (new)

Jon Weaver I must have been out of the loop for i never heard that, Any isn't he living in Florida now.

message 23: by Valeria (new)

Valeria Thank God!

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Don't scare me like that!

message 25: by Lance (new)

Lance Surprised nobody has quoted Twain: "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

This is the beginning of his new novel isn't it? He's writing himself as something grander than Pennywise and more scary than Cujo. Come on, Mr. King, you and I both know what's going on here.

message 27: by david (new)

david GREAT NEWS :)

message 28: by C. (new)

C. Morse Perhaps too many people believe what they read on Facebook and the internet without checking the facts. ; )

message 29: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I hope Mr. King realizes that he is not allowed to die.

message 36: by Tobie Gerbrandt (new)

Tobie Gerbrandt Shane wrote: "I had not heard the news of his supposed passing until this post, but it is good to know he is still with us and hopefully will be for some time to come. That is, unless there is a pet cemetery nea..."

That should be "Pet Sematary" and, if he got into it, it would have been much worse than the result in the book!

message 37: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Tweten I'm so glad I didn't hear this before now! It would have broken my heart.

message 38: by Ida (new)

Ida Stephen King has been my favorite author since I was 11 years old (seriously, I read my first Stephen King book in 2nd grade, but it took a year or so to really get serious). I've never cared much about famous people or celebrities, but Stephen King operates on a whole other level in my mind. I want to destroy whoever started this hoax.

message 39: by Lisa (last edited Feb 05, 2016 11:04AM) (new)

Lisa Wonderful news.....the world would be a sad place without more King to read.

message 40: by Martha (new)

Martha Glad I didn't know about this rumor until now!! Continued good health, SK!! LOOOOOVE your work.

message 41: by Gretta (new)

Gretta Germroth Just saw some books on Amazon supposedly by Steven King, but its a different Stephen King. Whats up with that?

message 42: by Janet (new)

Janet I can't even imagine a world without Stephen. He has given me such delight and pleasure in my lifetime. He is one of those special people that I feel like I owe something to, and wish there were some way to repay him for the gift of himself.

message 43: by Victoria (new)

Victoria I read my first Stephen King book, The Shining this year and was IN LOVE with every word, sentence, paragraph, page, and chapter. It was so freaking GREAT! And by the way the movie is entertaining, but has almost nothing to do with the book :-/

message 44: by Christina (new)

Christina The hoax is a nice title for a returned favor :)

message 45: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Hicks Stephen King will never die - he is immortal.

message 46: by K.R. (new)

K.R. R. Bernard Wow this is crazy

message 47: by Landon (new)

Landon Booth The king can never die! He draws eternal youth from the jar with the little boy heart on his desk... :D

message 48: by Lauro (new)

Lauro Long live the King then.

message 49: by Ida (new)

Ida Victoria wrote: "I read my first Stephen King book, The Shining this year and was IN LOVE with every word, sentence, paragraph, page, and chapter. It was so freaking GREAT! And by the way the movie is entertaining,..."

Ok, i assume you saw the one with jack nicholson? yes it's good, but you gotta watch the made-for-tv movie version with Steven Weber. It's sooo much truer to the book, especially the characters. Jack Nicholson acts like a psycho from the beginning, but Steve portrays the loving dad (just like in the book) whose previously buried dark side emerges once again due to the hotel's influences, If you prefer (like i do) for movie plots to stay true to the book, you should definitely check out this version of The Shining!

message 50: by Ida (new)

Ida Landon wrote: "The king can never die! He draws eternal youth from the jar with the little boy heart on his desk... :D"

I would gladly give him a few years of my life-force if it means having more books to look forward to!
