Stick by
Elmore LeonardMy rating:
5 of 5 starsJust getting into Leonard (a little late, I know). Started with Hombre, because it's one of Paul Newman's greatest roles. The book didn't disappoint. Stick was outstanding--Miami in the coke-fueled 80s, but from the bottom up. Stick is just out of prison, gets a job as a driver for a rich, wise-guy Jewish investor. It's filled with crazy characters with too much money doing too many drugs (except Stick). Leonard's reputation for dialog is well deserved. I've got a lot to learn from reading him. Just started 52 Pickup.
