Release Day and How It Feels

Spider Game released today. It's part of my Ghostwalker series which are very near and dear to me. I love writing this series and matching my alpha males to kick butt heroines. I love the science behind it all and all the research I do for these.
I have made so many trips to New Orleans and into the bayou for this series. So when you read the description of the bayou you can believe it's really like that. The sights, smells, flora and fauna. It's so intriguing to me.

I know I'm suppose to post things about the book and promote it, but you can get all that on Facebook and Twitter. I would really like my GoodReads blog to be different. It's more in line with what you find in my online community, for those who have joined up there.

I will tell you that no matter how many books I write, no matter how long I've been writing professionally, release day is special for me. It's part excitement, part nervousness, part curiosity. You work hard to bring those characters to life. And to make the places feel real to readers. And you hope the emotional journey as well as the adventure will thrill readers when they read it just like it did for me when I wrote it.

It never gets old, that feeling when a reader writes and says something in the book really touched them in some way. Or that the book helped them get through a rough time by allowing them to escape for a time. I do read my email. I do read comments left on social media. For that moment, I am connected to someone who shared a story, my story. And we shared an experience through those characters.

It's an exciting day for me and I sit here wondering how readers are feeling as they read the book. Spider Game

See, now I'm thinking of the scenes in that first 34% and I relive those, wondering how you felt when you read them. I hope you'll stop by and maybe let me know what you liked best?

Ang from OZ Happy Release Day!! :) Hoping to dig into Spider Game over the weekend! I especially love the books set in the bayou! (I think Gator is still my favorite) Are any of the character's your "favorite" or do you love them all the same? :)

message 4: by Sharon (new)

Sharon You are a fabulous writer, and I look forward to the next installments in *all* of your series, but I confess that this series is my very favorite. I love all your male and female leads, all the couples are strong and the plots and twists take me out of my world and into theirs. Thank you. I am sure I'm not the only one who had had their life eased/enhanced by losing themselves for a while in your works.

Jo Lansom Waiting for my book to be delivered sometime tomorrow! so excited!!!!!!

message 6: by Annette (new)

Annette Happy Release Day Christine!!! I had pre-ordered my copy of Spider Game and it is on my Kindle patiently waiting for me to read. Once I have my books, I like to let the suspense build up a bit more by putting off reading it for at least a week. I have all your other pending releases on pre-order. You are absolutely without a doubt my favorite paranormal author. As I've posted before, you ARE the Queen of Paranormal. I have only one question for you. Has Javier been whispering in your ear? Can't wait for you to write his story

Gucci 35 Happy Release Day!! I pre ordered Spider Game so I finished it this morning. My hard copy is in the mail. Gotta tell you I absolutely loved this story. Thank you for giving us another great story in The Ghostwalkers Series!! Cheers!!

Thank you Ang! It's so exciting when a book releases. You spend so much time with those characters you just want to see them come to life for people.
I love the bayou so much! I've been there many times for research. I'll try to post some pictures here as soon as I can figure out how. LOL

I love all my characters. Sometimes I love some more than others, but on the whole I couldn't spend that much time writing about them without loving them.

Thank you Sharon. That means a lot to me. Sometimes writing is my way of losing myself and escaping.
This series is very important to me. I love it. I love the bayou, the science, the adventure, the Ghostwalkers themselves.

Annette you know I appreciate you! I hope you enjoy the story. And I've had a lot of characters whispering in my ear lately. Those men are pushy, too! LOL

Georgia Just finished Spider Game and I loved it! I really like how you keep your characters true to themselves-just because they fall in love, doesn't mean they are "fixed" or radically changed. They just become better.
The Ghostwalkers and the leopard shifters are my favorite series-I'm wondering with both in the same territory, will there ever be a crossover?

message 14: by Destiny (new)

Destiny Cayenne is one of my favorite GW heroines.

Georgia, I'm so glad you liked Spider Game!
Obviously, I have a love of the bayou. I return there as often as I can. But, at least for now I have no plans to do a crossover. But, it would be interesting!

Christine Destiny wrote: "Cayenne is one of my favorite GW heroines."

I am so glad you love her! I really love her as a heroine. I felt like she had so much going against her when it comes to finding love. She could fight. She could take care of herself. But, she didn't feel worthy of love. She really had to find courage she didn't know she had.

message 17: by Brandi (new)

Brandi I have to say that there isn't a book you have written that I do not love. I love to read, but waiting on your release dates are a special kind of torture lol. I look forward to reading Spider Game. I already have the coffee purchased and the window seat prepared for my weekend of heading to the Bayou. Thank you for sharing your stories with us!

For me it's tea and my seat next to the large picture window in my living room that looks out over the redwoods down to the ocean. I love the anticipation of a book long waited for.
I hope you enjoy Spider Game!

Rachel Christine, I spent time in Lafayette as a child and your descriptions of the swamps with all their sights, noises and smells brings back those childhood memories and makes me extremely nostalgic. It also makes me want a big bowl of homemade crawdad etoufee! You hit the bayou nail squarely on the head every time you take readers there.

Rachel I love the bayou! I've made several trips out there personally so I could know all those little details myself and am so thrilled to hear that it brings back childhood memories for you!

Alyssa Martinez I just finished this book along with all the other ghostwalker books this year. I love how you showed Trap's traumas and showed his brokenness throughout the book. I loved the way you showed him softening to Cayenne and really wanting to be the best he could for her. I've seen the hardness and struggle in some men and I'm curious. I'm curious about all people. I'm always intrigued with finding out why someone is the way they are. I do not read very well so I listen to the books read by Tom stechschulte. He is amazing, you did well in having him read. Thank you for continuing to write.
