The Oscars - not enough black nominations - seriously?

How many people have been sidetracked by this pathetically meaningless issue/potential boycott?

To clarify - the Oscars are presented to selfish egotistical individuals for their ability to pretend to be something they are not, for which incidentally they are more than adequately financially rewarded.

Meanwhile the vast majority of people in the world exist below the poverty line. I'm sure that the lives black people in Africa or in the so called 'Hood' would be greatly enhanced by Will Smith winning an Oscar; it would make their daily trudge so much more bearable.

One other thing to bear in mind is that the movie studios utilise the Oscars to encourage sales of their films, an Oscar is great publicity so the question would be - are the studios using the race card to sell films?
