Loved it! Any dystopian series with a seriously badass leading lady will always have a place both in my heart and on my bookshelf.
For me the ultimate message was that we fail as a society when we try to put everyone in a box and tell them who they are, and then we fail even harder when we regard ourselves as disconnected from both each other and the whole. I also think Tris’ personal transformation was impeccably written and developed.
I especially liked the ending as well. Without breaking spoiler laws, I’ll just say that I’m a fan of non-traditional endings that are more realistic and authentic to the message of the story. Roth risked ruffling some feathers, and I like that.
