THREE GAIL BOOKS TODAY!
2015 was a weird, strange year for me in many ways. But one of the nicest things was having three, count them, three career dreams come true.
1) I wanted to write my own Vertigo title.
2) I wanted to see the Secret Six again.
3) I wanted to wrangle a major crossover.
All of those things happened in 2015 and it made me very happy. The artists and writers and editors I got to work with (and still get to work with) were astonishing.
And today, three of those books come out on the same day!
CLEAN ROOM #4: Vertigo head Shelly Bond said this issue was the most terrifying thing she had seen in 25 years at Vertigo. High praise indeed, and the mystery starts to reveal itself here! FABULOUS art by Jon Davis-Hunt!
SECRET SIX #10: Our beloved weirdos face the final test of the magicians of the DCU, and we get a startling reveal about one of our cast! Gorgeous art by Tom Derenick and Dale Eaglesham!
And finally, WOW, the COMPLETE SWORDS OF SORROW. This thing is OVER 500 pages, it’s massive. It’s a dream come true for me, as I got to write the greatest pulp heroines of all time, AND I got to invite a bunch of my favorite writers to come play, too. This book has jungles, martians, Woola, Vampirella, dinosaurs, Red Sonja, Marguerite Bennett, Kato, the Black Beauty, Dejah Thoris, G. Willow Willson, spies, nazis, pyramids, and a billion other fun thingies and it’s drawn by a host of talents including the wonderful SERGIO DAVILA. This event may never happen again, and it was absolutely BONKERS fun.
So I hope you guys pick these up and thank you for allowing me to have these kinds of adventures!
