With colder weather coming on, you will want to keep your doll nice and cozy (because she totally has feelings! haha!)
*I made Kirsten’s t-shirt and skirt, however the shoes, Felicity’s socks, and the Beanie Baby puppy were all bought*
Kitten Hoodie:
For the body of your hoodie, you can either use a hoodie pattern (I lengthened mine so that it wasn’t “cropped” and added the pocket from this pattern), or you can easily adapt a t-shirt pattern. The most important thing is to use what makes sense to you!
For the actual hood, I found these adorable ears that allow you to make several different animals.
I decided to go “extra fancy” and give mine a contrasting lining. To do this, make a second hood (no ears) and body of the hoodie (no sleeves). Attach the wrong sides together and sew the sleeves on, like normal. Add pockets, if desired, and sew trim to the remaining edges (as described in most American Girl patterns)
I chose to stop here, however snaps, buttons, Velcro, a zipper, or any other kind of closure can be added, if desired. Add patches, embroidery, pins…whatever you like!
Ahhh! The kitten hoodie is so cute!
