Different Gestures And Flat Out Differences

Before deciding to purchase a passport go through customs, and travel into another country their are a certain number of things many first timers must know.  Knowing the difference in hand gestures here in the States and abroad will get you far.  Basically, hand gestures is another form of non-verbal communication.  Even young toddlers that can not speak yet understand how to communicate using non-verbal hand gestures.  In this country, most American citizens understand that the index finger can be operated in a down and up motion signaling without speaking which means come here.  Their is a big difference in the way a couple of English sentences can sound when translated by an Asian interpreter spoken in Chinese to a group of tourist who can only speak English.  The same applies to the translation of hand gestures.  In Asian countries, using the index finger operated in a down and up motion as we do here in America is strictly a call to address dogs, and not to be used to direct Asian people.

Imagine being abroad and appreciating the evening relaxing with mild entertainment.  You order some of the best food you have ever tasted from a Thailand Restaurant.  In the process of eating the hostess ask you in English, “how is your meal?”  With a mouth full of food you immediately reply giving her the “thumbs up” using your thumb finger which here in America implies good job.  But you did not know in Thailand that that is a non-verbal way of warning that someone is being condemned.  She immediately notifies the manager and a huge disagreement between y’all take place.  Finally, the situation is calmed by simply tracing the steps of the conversation from beginning to end.  Once the manager discovers that you gave her a thumbs up, he tells you what that gesture implies in his country.  He tells the hostess!  The manager understood the difference in that particular gesture, but his employee wasn’t hip yet.  And what the fuck, neither were you.

As a honorable mention, when I traveled to Canada, their was this one shopping mall and inside things were a little more openly displayed than here.  Sex or a photo of a nude person was not something hidden from the public eye.  This was a regular shopping mall with regular stores that created a different feel while browsing for items and souvenirs.  The keychain`s and other items that displayed some of the sexiest women managed to entice me enough where I couldn’t help but notice an erection that stretched out and poked the top surface of my upper left thigh.  Even though this trip was some years ago, I’m glad I decided to take a female companion as my fun partner.  We had just became friends, and it was the first time for both of us leaving the country.  Behind the mall their was an impressive amusement park.  I recall going inside of a McDonald’s and a large drink was so much more expensive than home.  I believe our dollar had more value than the Canadian dollar at that particular time, anyway. The Canadians refer to our country by name as “The States.”  I was not at discuss by Canada`s cultural appetite for promoting tourist to enjoy one another or possibly meet a new social or business connection.  Watching water dive off the high cliff at Niagara Falls was cool also.

We all have to eat food to survive.  Here in our country McDonald’s is McDonald’s and Burger King is Burger King.  And on each one of those menus no matter the state, or city you reside in you can find a burger and a fry.  Well if you travel abroad McDonald’s in Asian might not offer some of the same value meals.  You might be lucky if you can order a hamburger in an Asian McDonald’s.  McDonald’s in China might resemble more of a Chinese restaurant over here in America.  The same applies to European countries and their cultural eating habits.  After eating, gas can make its way out of the body either by mouth known as belching or by way of asshole which we call farts, but each are sure avenues to release the air.  On a date, who cares to mix a sour fart smell with a nice looking woman wearing an appealing fragrance eating a well prepared good smelling meal?  Is that mouth watering?  A lot of people find farting while eating offensive, but in Eastern countries this shows a gesture of pleasure, and it is polite to release those gasses.

I noticed a word that people use flat out differently.  This is probably used on a global level if I had to take a guess.  That word is cock!  This particular word has been and can be used to describe the male or female genital areas.  When I was younger growing up and becoming interested in the girls, in my old neighborhood, it was common for someone out of this group of males to conversate their way into pulling out a fuck-book, or pop in a porn movie for some entertainment.  From my point of view it seems like their is a slang twist when the word cock is thrown around.  Black men have used the word cock to describe the female pussy.  On the contrary, white men use the word when talking about the male’s dick.  Who’s right and who’s wrong?  Personally, I have used the word cock to describe both parts.  In all, the urban, suburban, amateur or Hollywood porn industry, rap or rock, in each world each one is correct.  But that does not mean because I used the cock word to describe a pussy years ago does not mean I won’t use the same word tomorrow to describe a dick. Why?  “Because it’s slang and can be used anyway I want.”
