And Then I Read: DOCTOR FATE 7

Love the cover, first of all.

Khalid hasn’t been doing so well as Doctor Fate. He’s up against Anubis, the Egyptian god of death, and that Jackal is far more experienced and powerful than a human boy, even one with the mask and amulet of Thoth. So, when he finds himself dead, and in the Jackal’s home territory, he can be sure things aren’t going to go well, even with Thoth himself at his side. For one thing, there’s the little problem of his heart. It’s been removed from his body. Khalid has two choices: to give up, or to somehow keep trying.

This book is a joy to read, and the art is charming and epic at the same time. I look forward to and delight in it. Highly recommended.
