Getting a Gas RC Helicopter

Today I’m going to write about a thing that you may have already heard of, thanks to our creative minds and technological advances. For some people a hobby, for others a toy and an entertainment tool. I’m talking about a helicopter. Or more specifically, a radio controlled helicopter (or a RC helicopter).
No one ever imagined this toy (or tool) would be in the market a few years before. RC cars were created, and are still played by children in our present days, but helicopters were something more complex, because of one factor:

They are flying machines. Who would imagine a kid controlling his own helicopter and flying him through wherever he wants? And Imagine a Remote Control Helicopter With Video Camera would that be cool?

But humanity surprises us all the time, and that distant idea quickly became reality. But I’m going to talk about a specific type of RC Helicopter: A gas powered rc helicopter (very often confused with nitro RC helicopters), which are less used by beginners, since they prefer their electric counterparts.
To begin with, gas powered rc helicopters (also called gassers) are much bigger than other RC flyers, and use gasoline/petrol mixed with engine oil. This type of helicopter’s biggest advantage is his flight times, which can be fairly long (some fly more than thirty minutes).
Also, fuel for this helicopter is cheaper than nitro and even cheaper than batteries (Electric RC Helicopters uses a special type of battery called LIPo batteries, which can be fairly expensive). This type of RC flyer makes noise and smell (the electric ones don’t), and are more difficult to fly because they have gas engines.

So, why should anyone buy a Gas Powered RC Helicopter, when they can buy the electric one, which seems far better, cheaper, and without inconveniences? Because of one simple thing, and the answer is fairly simple: Genuine RC pilots and enthusiasts.
These enthusiasts prefer the noise than the silence, they prefer the challenge that Gas RC helicopters provide, which are useful to show their skills and to train them. On top of that, Gas RC Helicopters provide the basics of real helicopter flying, providing an even more exciting experience!
However, as with almost anything, all types of RC flyers must be handled carefully. People have already died because of it. Helicopter helices are dangerous if they are too close to the user, due to their fast spiraling motion, helices become blades. It’s even more dangerous to users who have gas powered RC helicopters due to their size. That’s why this type of helicopter is mostly recommended to non-beginners and hobbyists.
Now let’s talk about business. On the market Gas RC Helicopters aren’t having a good time, and it’s getting worse day by day. Due to advanced electric helicopters getting out of stores every day, Gas RC Helicopters are becoming harder and harder to find. These are very sad times for pilots and enthusiasts.
To conclude, piloting RC flyers is fun and not very expensive. But the Gas Powered RC Helicopters are truly beautiful for their complexity and their almost real piloting experience. It’s true their not having the best experience on the market, but RC Helicopter enthusiasts will always exist, thereby, RC Gas helicopters will always too. There are also Remote Control Helicopters for kids, but that’s a different story and we urge you to read about it as well.
