First Excerpt for 2016 on WIP it Up Wendesday #wipitup

In the last post - we met Erika, the owner of a drag queen club in Bangkok, Thailand. Two of her performers were rolling around on the floor, threatening top pullout hair extensions.  The book - ALMOST - has a title - there are ideas bouncing around 3 of my author friends. Also this book is DONE!! And now on to book 2 as it turned out this might be a mini series - 2 maybe 3 books.



Erik stifled an eye roll. "You queens are going to be the death of me."Sandee, dressed in a Cabaret showgirl costume, leaned closer and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "You know we love you, Erika honey. You're one of us. Just one of the gals."She shook her head. "I'm surrounded by some hot males and you all do dresses and makeup a thousand times better than me and…" She flung her empty hand in the air. "I'm the only one with two X chromosomes." She glanced at her watch. "Show's in ten. Let's get a move on. Ra-chell. Shangri–Lay. You two good?"Ra-chell lifted her index finger and spoke as she turned toward the makeup mirror. "Girl, I am always good. Good is my middle name. I am the definition of good."Shangri–Lay brushed his long brilliant blue hair over his shoulder. "Well, little Miss Definition-of-good, you keep them fingers off my things or –"Erik lifted a hand. "No threats. Rule number one. Love each other."Ra-chell turned and gripped Shangri–Lay's crotch. "You heard the Boss Lady. Shangri–Lay gonna give Ra-chell some loving this evening?"Erik rubbed her forehead. "At each other's throats one second then in each other's pants the next. I can't keep up with you ladies."Giggles floated on the air as the performers drifted to their dressing areas to fix makeup and check costumes, leaving Erik standing alone holding an empty glass. She glanced at it. "Pretty much sums up my life.""Huh?" The stage manager cocked his head to the left.She shrugged, headed to her office, shutting the thick door and taking a moment to wallow in the silence her acoustically insulated office gave her. After plopping onto her desk chair, she pulled open her bottom left drawer and pulled out her prize possession, a bottle of twenty-year old Glenfiddich whiskey. A gift from her father when she assumed control of the club. His words of advice – Drink it wisely.She stroked her hand down the front of the bottle. The glass was cool against her fingertips. Being the owner/manager of a drag queen club had its share of up moments, but it sorely crushed her potential for a love life. She practically lived at the club and most of the patrons who visited were gay. Not leaving much of a dating pool for her to select from. For the first three or four months, she reveled in the solitude; however a girl gets itches, which need to be scratched.She opened the bottle and took a moment to let the fragrance fill her. Listening to the liquid splash against the glass was like hearing an angel sing. She lifted the glass to her lips and let the amber liquid burn its way down her throat. Warmth started in her belly and spread throughout her limbs. Fortified, she stood and returned to the din and glaring lights of the club.Having recovered from her hissy fit and tussle, Shangri–Lay strutted onto the stage in six-inch stilettos and a liquid black colored gown, slit to his…Erik shook her head… slit to her hip.So not fair. Look at the ass on that guy. I could sink my teeth into that and never let go. A tingle prickled between her legs. I'm fantasizing about a drag queen. I so have to find a guy.
