Am I reading too much into this or do his eyes slide rather tellingly to Mary right after he says “why wouldn’t I be all right?” As in, she’s exactly why he wouldn’t be all right.

He’s definitely looking at John when he says, “Miss me?“  You can tell because his head is in the same position when he answers John’s question. And Mycroft is further to the right.

To me it does, indeed, look like he looks right at Mary after he says, “Why wouldn’t I be?”.
