In all seriousness, though. Let’s talk about John saving Sherlock in Sherlock’s mind palace.

Sherlock died in HLV and came back to life thinking about John. Mycroft told him not to go in shock by finding something that calmed him down. Sherlock TRIED to find John, but Mary was in the way.

Sherlock, subsequently, dives deeper and deeper until he’s alone with the worst of himself.

In TAB, not only do the roles reverse themselves, John is finally ‘found’ and successfully ‘saves’ Sherlock from his own mind, his own fears and perceived shortcomings. Sherlock doesn’t have to flee them anymore.

What’s more, Sherlock lets him. He LETS John.

Do you understand how important this is? He’s trusting John to end things.

Earlier in the episode, Sherlock says, “I have to finish this.”

But it’s John that finishes it. Saves him from himself. I think it’s pretty clear that Sherlock isn’t just trusting John with offing Moriarty, here. He’s trusting John with himself. With his heart.

LISTEN THOUGH!!! sherlock goes to the very deepest he’s ever gone in his mind palace and THERE IS JOHN!!! AT THE CENTER!!! AT THE HEART OF HIS MIND PALACE THERE IS JOHN! SAVING HIM

JOHN ISN’T JUST HIS CONDUCTOR OF LIGHT HE’S HIS HEART HE. IS. HIS. HEART.

THIS TIME IT’S JOHN LIVES= SHERLOCK LIVES

I love this!! :)))
