2015 and Looking Ahead

Kvetha Fricaya! Greetings Friends!

As 2015 draws to a close, I again want to thank all of you for reading the Inheritance Cycle and for supporting our content on paolini.net. None of this would be possible without you!

This has been a big year for me. I don’t talk too much about my private life, mainly because it’s pretty boring day-to-day. I sit at my desk, press various keys, dream of far-off peoples and places, and every now and then go lift heavy things. That said, 2015 was a year of changes for me, both personally and professionally, and I feel as if they’ve made me a better person and, hopefully, a better writer.

As many of you know, I’ve been working on a sci-fi novel for quite some time now. If all goes well, the first draft will be finished in the near future. Fingers crossed! As with all my books, it’s ended up somewhat longer than expected—hey, what’s a few hundred pages here and there?—but so far the results are pleasing. I can’t wait for people to read it!

Looking forward, 2016 is going to be an exciting year. I have lots of new projects lined up, and my team and I will continue to provide a steady stream of new content for paolini.net (including more prints of Inheritance art, if folks are interested).

Hopefully 2015 has been a good year for you as well. Spend some time with friends and family, raise a mug in celebration, and in the immortal words of Bill & Ted: “Be excellent to each other!”

Atra esterní ono thelduin,

Christopher Paolini

message 12: by Savanah (new)

Savanah Freidus You should write a book on how a trajic girl named Synthia with lukeimia met a boy named rover and then they did all these adventures not realizing that soon they would fall in love. You should call the book The love and death road.

Katherine You're my hero! I'm thirteen and an aspiring author.

Did you include a Blazing Saddles reference in Eldest! Loring says: "Barges? We don't want no stinking barges!"
This seems like a reference to: "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!"

Also, love the Bill and Ted quote. :)
