the tucci family recipe was where we started (pretty sure it’s widely available online) with a few of our own modifications - we use san marzano sauce (sorry tuccis), we use sea salt and rosemary along with the butter and olive oil in the pan to give the outer crust some extra something; we make alton brown’s three-meat meatballs – we mix up the cheese some, too, but i can’t remember what we add to the romano. we always sorta play around some and if it’s worth repeating, it gets written down...
