Young: Tell us about your Latest Book? Release Date? And can you give us a teaser?

Marcia Carrington (M.C.): Thank you so much for having me on your blog today Bernard.

My latest release, EARLES GRAND DESPAIR, is a Christmas romance novelette which was released on November 12, 2015. Heres the synopsis for readers:

Earle Kramer visits Enchante restaurant awaiting the arrival of his fiance Bonita, primed to announce some wonderful news to her. When Bonita leaves Earle via cell phone text message, he is devastated, and does not know what to do. Another patron at the restaurant that same evening experiences a similar predicament to Earle.

Ria Carnette is also left in the lurch by her fianc Alain, who does not show up at all at the restaurant. She later discovers a letter from Alain regarding their separation at home, which leaves her heartbroken.

The plights of Earle and Ria are viewed with sympathy by caring Enchante restaurant owner Harland, who does his best to encourage Earle and Ria to get together, seeing their mutual, if tentative interest in one another. Will Harland's best attempts to connect Earle and Ria fail, or will his intuition about their compatibility prove wonderfully correct?

THE GREAT HIGH SCHOOL LOVE GAME

Young: What other books/short stories have you written?

M.C.: I have written nineteen other works, ranging from a full-length YA novel, THE GREAT HIGH SCHOOL LOVE GAME, to novellas such as HARVEY HANDSOME, BRANDYS SUMMER IDOL and MARKS PASSIONATE HEART, to novelettes such as PATRICIAS HOLIDAY AFFAIR and BLAKES HIGH SCHOOL REUNION. Ive also written short stories such as THE ADVENTURES OF MRS BROWING and MANDYS DREAM BEAU, to name a few.

Young: Do you publish in e-book, print, or both?

M.C: I only publish in e-book form at this time, but may branch out into print at a later stage.

Young: Where can readers find your books?

M.C.: My books are available on e-book websites Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, I-Tunes, and Kobo.

HARVEY_HANDSOME

Young: Where and how can readers get in touch with you?

M.C.: Readers can contact me on Twitter, on Goodreads, or through my blog.

Young: So with your latest work released, what comes next? What can we expect from you in the future?

M.C.: I am currently working on books for 2016. HEARTBREAKER is a romance novella due to be released in February 2016, and my next book, cozy mystery novelette, MAXWELL SLADE HAS VANISHED, is coming in April 2016. I am proposing to release six books in 2016, a mixture of romance novelettes, with at least one comedy-romance amongst these.

Young: Do you have a set schedule for writing or do you just go with the flow?

M.C.: I actively aim to write something every day, and if I cant write more of a manuscript, I try to at least work on a blog post, or something else related to my writing.

BRANDYS_SUMMER_IDOL

Young: What is your routine once you start writing a book?

M.C.: I always have an outline of the book, which is quite detailed, and can be broken into chapters if I feel it will assist me. With new books, I try to write a rough draft of the book over the course of 3-4 weeks, or longer, it depends upon the material. After a break of, say, a few weeks, where I may be writing or editing another book, I revisit the book, and begin the process of refining the manuscript. Generally I do up to six courses of editing, where I may add chapters, scenes, or characters if I feel they add depth and resonance to the story. Once Im happy with the final product, I begin the process of preparing it for publication, and often utilize a beta reader where practicable.

Young: Among your own books, have you a favourite book? Favourite Hero or Heroine?

M.C.: I have an especial affinity for MAN ON A MOTORBIKE, the upcoming HEARTBREAKER, and EARLES GRAND DESPAIR, although I love all my books. They all deal with characters finding true soulmates even in the face of broken relationships, tragedy, and whatever else life can throw at them.

MANDYS_DREAM_BEAU

Young: Have you ever experienced Writer's Block? If so how did you work through it?

M.C.: I have years ago, but not since I have been writing. When I had it, looking back, I believe it was from tiredness, and not establishing a good routine/timetable for life, and writing. The body can become drained if adequate rest is not achieved, which I am always trying to maintain. Also, keeping active, and eating a proper diet, are another helpful way to assist creativity, and hence, disallow the development of writers block, I feel.

Young: Who are some of your favourite authors to read?

M.C.: I love indie authors and the magnificent material that is produced. I loved James Joyces books, Judith Krantz is another great writer, Nietzsche, so esotericthere are so many authors, I could go on for hours on end!!

PATRICIAs_HOLIDAY_AFFAIR

Young: Anything else you'd like to tell our readers?

M.C.: I love coffee, chocolate, and have a terrible weakness for sweets such as cheesecake which may not be good for the teeth, but are a pleasure to the palate!

Young: Lastly do you have any words of encouragement for unpublished writers?

M.C.: To take the plunge, and give writing a try. If you feel that you want to delve into fictional worlds, and its something that absorbs, consumes, and makes you happy, then go for it. As the saying goes, you dont know until you try, and no one knows everything the minute they release their first book. Its a journey, different for everyone, and how we see it, and work through it. One has to be mindful that its not easy, but very emotionally enriching, and satisfying, to see readers enjoy your works, and want to read more of your books.
