I love this time of year: getting together with family and friends, giving gifts, and sharing our favorite things. One of the favorite things I like to share and have shared with me are recipes.
Today I’m sharing one of my older cookie recipes that has been a favorite with my husband, family, and friends.
BUTTERBALLS
Ingredients
3/8 c. butter (softened)
2 T. butter
1/4 T. salt
1/2 c. baking powder
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Powdered sugar
Instructions
Preheat over to 375 degrees.
In large bowl, combine 3/8 c. butter, salt, baking powder, flour, sugar, 2 T. butter, vanilla, and egg.
Blend until stiff dough.
Blend in nuts.
Shape dough into 3/4 inch balls.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 11-16 minutes.
Cool slightly and roll in powdered sugar.
Servings: 3 dozen
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 31 minutes
