To Write or Not To Write - There is no Question...
For me, there has never been any doubt - writing is imperative. We encounter it in all walks of life, from filling in forms, sending celebratory cards or even used when paying bills when sending a cheque.
Within the most important moments of our lives pen and ink are involved somewhere, like putting our names down on our birth certificates, to the signing of the marriage certificates, all the way to the notification of our deaths. It really does act like a bookend of our lives.
Nothing beats the feel of the gliding motion of a pen as it crosses from left to right on a canvas of white paper or parchment.
But why are so few of us now doing it? Why has it become lost and forgotten?
Letter writing is now considered to be a lost art-form, when once it was the most prevalent way of communicating.
Technology has a big part to play in this. In today's world we can communicate with each other instantaneously, but are we really communicating? Are we thinking about what we are saying or how we are saying it?
I think somewhere along the line we have lost the true meaning of 'how' to communicate effectively and the enjoyment of such endeavors has become forgotten and lost. I say it's time to rekindle the passion for writing.
Do not misinterpret what I am saying. I am not asking you to forget technology and pick up a pen and a piece of paper. Instead all I am asking is for a little bit of thought and attention to detail can make the idea of writing enjoyable, rather than a burden.
Writing can be very cathartic, if approached in the right manner. Instead of thinking of it as a chore, take a moment and appreciate the release of letting words flow from your mind, down your arm, into the pen and across the page.
Think and love to write. Writing It is quite simple,
and is really easy to do.
You don't need paints,
scissors or even glue.
All you need is a
piece of ice white paper,
and a pen where
ink flows like a river.
The pen glides across the paper,
like an eagle soaring through the sky.
Concentrating hard to
make sure that you get it right.
When it is finished
admire your work,
reading it over and over again
just to have another look.
It has taken a lot of effort
and is now really personal,
its something you will treasure always,
as to you it is very special.
But show everyone
that wants to have a look
for this is its purpose, to be
shown loose, or even in a book.
Then when all is said
and done, it has to be filed away,
so that it can be shown again,
on another creative day.
